Purchase To Pay Manager

About the role

Sellick Partnership is recruiting a Purchase To Pay Manager for the Co‑op Academies Trust. This senior finance role will lead the Trust’s purchase‑to‑pay function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of supplier invoices, purchase orders and payments across a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Trust’s end‑to‑end purchase‑to‑pay process.
• Line‑manage Purchase Ledger Supervisors and other P2P staff, fostering team development.
• Oversee purchase orders, invoice processing, goods receipt matching and payment runs.
• Ensure compliance with Trust policies, delegated authorities and internal financial controls.
• Manage supplier relationships, resolve queries and disputes, and perform reconciliations.
• Oversee supplier statements, credit‑card logs, VAT reconciliation and submissions.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end activities, including accruals and journal entries.
• Contribute to audit activities, reporting, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Identify and implement process and system improvements across P2P activities.

Required profile

• Relevant finance qualification (AAT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in purchase‑to‑pay, accounts payable, procurement management or senior finance operations.
• Proven experience managing and developing a team, including coaching and performance management.
• Strong supplier relationship management and dispute‑resolution experience.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Experience in a regulated, public‑sector or education environment is desirable.
