Purchaser – Operations Team (Birmingham)

About the role

We are seeking a Purchaser to join the Operations team of a well‑established manufacturing business in Birmingham. The role ensures that materials are ordered, delivered and available to support production schedules, working closely with suppliers and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders using an ERP system.
• Maintain supplier relationships and monitor delivery performance.
• Plan material requirements using MRP.
• Review stock levels and re‑order points.
• Source products, obtain quotations and manage lead times.
• Collaborate closely with Stock Control and Goods In teams.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ purchasing experience or a postgraduate qualification in Purchasing/Logistics.
• Experience using an ERP system.
• Good understanding of MRP and purchasing processes.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous.
