Purchasing Administrator

About the role

Stirling Ellis, a fast‑growing international SME manufacturing business, is looking for a Purchasing Administrator to join the Head Office in Slough. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will support the buying function by placing accurate supplier orders, tracking deliveries and keeping the ERP system up‑to‑date.

Key responsibilities

• Create and chase purchase orders from activation to warehouse receipt.
• Match delivery notes with original orders and enter stock data into the ERP system.
• Contact suppliers by phone, email or face‑to‑face to confirm delivery dates.
• Maintain the weekly purchasing report and manage the purchasing inbox.
• Set up new supplier accounts and ensure all details are entered correctly.
• Prepare weekly delivery schedules for critical electronic components.
• Resolve order queries related to price, product or delivery.
• Process supplier rejects, monitor shortages and compile monthly invoice reports for finance.
• Support annual stock‑take and reconcile inventory with the ERP system.

Required profile

• Previous experience in purchasing or procurement administration.
• Confident telephone manner and proactive problem‑solving attitude.
• Background in administration or accounting.
• Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Excel.
