Purchasing & Import Administrator

About the role

The Purchasing & Import Administrator will support a market‑leading client in Birchwood, Warrington, handling purchase orders, supplier liaison and customs documentation. Working 36.5 hours per week in a fully office‑based environment, you will ensure timely delivery of raw materials and accurate stock management.

Key responsibilities

• Raise and manage purchase orders with suppliers.
• Maintain positive supplier relationships to ensure timely processing and delivery.
• Update internal systems with confirmed delivery dates and inform the sales team of any changes.
• Book stock on arrival and resolve queries with the external warehouse.
• Prepare documentation for customs import clearance.
• Manage stock holding requirements and coordinate with external teams and product managers.
• Arrange transport for purchase orders and negotiate rates with transport providers.
• Assist the sales team with direct deliveries to customers.
• Ensure stock accuracy and perform reconciliations with the warehouse.
• Carry out additional administration duties as required.

Required profile

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Competent IT user (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Positive, flexible attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Experience in purchasing, import or a similar supply‑chain administration role is desirable but not essential.
• Immediate availability is preferred.

What we offer

• Salary: £27,830 per year.
• Working hours: Mon‑Thu 8:30‑17:00, Fri 8:30‑14:30 (36.5‑hour week).
• 22 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to request an additional 5 days.
