Purchasing Manager – Fast Growing Manufacturing Business

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will lead end‑to‑end procurement for a fast‑growing manufacturing business in West Berkshire. You will be responsible for supplier management, contract negotiation and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support production continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategies that drive cost efficiency, on‑time delivery and production continuity.
• Source, negotiate and manage suppliers, contracts, pricing agreements and service‑level expectations.
• Monitor inventory levels and purchasing activity to ensure optimal stock availability while controlling costs.
• Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify savings, mitigate risks and resolve supply issues.
• Lead procurement operations, ensure compliance, report on key metrics and drive continuous process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain management, including supplier and contract management.
• Strong negotiation, vendor‑management, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Relevant procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CPIM) are advantageous.
