Purchasing Manager – Specialist M&E Supplier

About the role

The Purchasing Manager will take full ownership of the end‑to‑end procurement function for a specialist M&E supplier in Leeds. You will be expected to hit the ground running, quickly understand the current operation and develop commercially focused strategies to support the next phase of growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement plans aligned to business objectives.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with key suppliers to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
• Manage and develop strong supplier relationships, including performance evaluation and compliance.
• Ensure continuity of supply and mitigate risk within the supply chain.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved value.
• Manage procurement budgets and deliver cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with operations, finance and logistics teams to support business performance.
• Support product sourcing, including alternative supplier identification where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic purchasing, supplier management and team leadership.
• Strong negotiation and contract‑management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and financial acumen.
• Experience working with ERP or other procurement systems.
• Preferably background in electrical, manufacturing or distribution sectors.
• Proactive, commercially minded approach with the ability to influence at all levels.
