Purchasing Supervisor (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Supervisor to join a scientific‑based client in Burgess Hill. This hybrid position combines office days with remote work and offers the chance to lead a small sourcing team while managing global supplier relationships and inventory strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing sourcing team of three members.
• Plan daily workload, monitor performance and ensure timely delivery of sourcing activities.
• Oversee global sourcing to meet customer specifications and negotiate contracts, pricing, SLAs and delivery terms.
• Own inventory forecasting, optimisation, reporting and risk management.
• Analyse sourcing data and metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Act as escalation point for complex sourcing queries and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with EHS, GDP, GMP, GCP and other regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in order fulfilment, order management or customer service with a focus on team leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sourcing and inventory stages of the fulfilment process.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior leadership.
