Python Automation Developer (12-month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Python Automation Developer to join our team in Chester on a 12‑month contract. You will work three days a week on‑site, collaborating with network and infrastructure engineers to build and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Python scripts and services for automating network and infrastructure tasks.
• Integrate and consume REST APIs, handling JSON and XML data formats.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify automation opportunities and define requirements.
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimise existing automation workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best coding practices.

Required profile

• Strong Python programming experience, preferably with automation tool development.
• Hands‑on experience in Linux environments and system administration.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development processes.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
