Python Software Engineer

About the role

Join SciBite’s DataOps team to build and evolve innovative data and ontology solutions that power world‑leading scientific technologies. You will combine software engineering, automation, and data operations to create scalable systems that have a real impact for customers and researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and develop critical ontology import pipelines.
• Support the Ontology team in creating and updating vocabularies and ontologies.
• Provide assistance for customer projects as needed.
• Develop software tools to aid manual curation efforts.
• Build and maintain automation pipelines across the DataOps team.
• Work with AWS Batch, Step Functions, and Lambda‑based solutions.
• Collaborate closely with Data Science and Ontology teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of DataOps processes and tooling.

Required profile

• Experience in Python software development and production environments.
• Proficiency with UNIX command‑line environments.
• Strong teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience with version control systems, preferably GitHub.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP or Azure.
