QA Software Engineer – MES (Medical Device)

About the role

You will act as the bridge between the shop floor and quality management systems for a leading global medical device technology company. The position focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and validating MES platforms that track production, ensuring compliance with strict regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and continuously improve workflows, recipes, and digital batch records within MES platforms.
• Develop backend updates and manage databases using C# and SQL, ensuring seamless data flow between ERP and shop‑floor equipment.
• Draft, update, and execute validation protocols and software test scripts to meet cGMP and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Monitor real‑time work‑in‑progress systems, generate non‑conformance reports, and drive corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
• Collaborate with manufacturing, IT/OT, and quality assurance teams to minimise downtime and ensure system reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Methodical mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for software quality and validation.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with floor operators and senior engineers.

Required skills

• C# programming
• SQL database management
• Hands‑on experience with MES platforms (e.g., Siemens Opcenter, Critical Manufacturing, Werum PAS‑X, Camstar)
• Understanding of regulated environments (cGMP, ISO 13485) – preferred

What we offer

• Initial 12‑month contract (full‑time)
• Salary up to £57,000 per annum, dependent on experience
• On‑site role based in Witney, South East England
