QTS GCSE English Tutor – Flexible Part‑time Role

About the role

We are seeking a qualified QTS GCSE English Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for vulnerable learners across Hampshire. The role is part‑time and contract‑based, offering flexible hours to support students in preparing for their GCSE English examinations and rebuilding confidence in their learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 GCSE English lessons tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Support pupils with additional needs such as ASD, SEMH, ADHD, anxiety or EHCPs.
• Track progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximise attainment.
• Collaborate with local authority partners to ensure consistent educational support.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in a teaching, tutoring or learning‑support role.
• Strong knowledge of the GCSE English curriculum.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Access to a vehicle or willingness to travel locally.

Required skills

• Proficiency in planning and delivering GCSE English lessons.
• Understanding of SEND requirements and strategies.
