QTS GCSE Maths Tutor

About the role

We are seeking a QTS‑qualified GCSE Maths Tutor to deliver one‑to‑one tuition for young people across Hampshire who need additional support outside mainstream education. You will work closely with local authorities to help learners who are out of education, awaiting placements or facing barriers to their learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised 1:1 GCSE Maths tuition tailored to each learner’s needs.
• Adapt lesson plans and teaching approaches to suit individual learning styles.
• Encourage engagement, rebuild confidence and support progress towards GCSE attainment.
• Create a positive, consistent learning environment and give constructive feedback on progress.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Minimum six months experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring or learning support.
• Strong GCSE Maths subject knowledge.
• Experience with SEND, EHCPs or additional needs is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient, proactive and flexible.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Driver’s licence or willingness to travel locally across Hampshire.
