About the role
We are seeking a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) holder to deliver high‑quality GCSE‑level tuition in Maths and English on a flexible, part‑time basis. The role is based in Reading and offers the freedom to fit teaching sessions around your existing commitments.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons for GCSE students.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of learners, including those with additional learning requirements.
- Monitor student progress, set realistic targets and provide constructive feedback.
- Create a positive, motivating learning environment that encourages student confidence.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and achievement.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Proven experience teaching Maths and/or English at secondary GCSE level.
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to tailor lessons to individual learners.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Desirable: experience supporting students with SEN or SEMH needs and a background in tutoring or targeted interventions.
