QTS Tutor – GCSE Core

About the role

We are seeking a qualified teacher to deliver GCSE‑level tuition in Maths, English or Science on a flexible, part‑time basis. The role involves planning and delivering personalised lessons that cater to a range of abilities, including learners with additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned tuition up to GCSE level.
• Design and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Support students with varying abilities, including those with SEN or SEMH needs.
• Monitor progress, set realistic targets and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, motivating learning environment.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a PGCE in a core subject.
• Experience teaching Maths and/or English at secondary GCSE level.
• Strong subject knowledge and ability to adapt lessons.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Subject expertise in Maths, English or Science.
• Ability to personalise instruction for diverse learners.
• Understanding of safeguarding and safeguarding procedures.
