Qualified Electrician – Planned Refurbishments (South West England)

About the role

Ian Williams is seeking a qualified Electrician to join its Capital (Planned Refurbishments) team, delivering domestic electrical projects across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The role offers a stable 39‑hour week, competitive pay and a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out domestic electrical works including wiring sockets, fuse spurs, fans, lights, showers, pumps and renewing control and consumer units (CCUs).
• Test and certify all installations in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain health and safety standards, record actions and communicate effectively.
• Provide excellent customer service while working in occupied properties.

Required profile

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent City & Guilds) qualification.
• 18th Edition certification and AM2 assessment – both essential.
• Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (desirable).
• Level 3 Solar Photovoltaic Systems qualification (desirable).
• Full, current UK driving licence.
• Ability to work professionally in a range of domestic environments.

Required skills

• Electrical wiring and installation of sockets, switches, lighting, fans, showers and pumps.
• Control and Consumer Unit (CCU) renewal.
• Testing and certification of electrical work.
• 18th Edition and AM2 certified competence.
• Solar photovoltaic system installation (desirable).
