Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber – Waltham Forest

About the role

Change Grow Live is seeking a qualified Non‑Medical Prescriber to join its multidisciplinary team in Waltham Forest. Working under the Assistant Medical Director and the Service’s Medical Lead, you will contribute to the delivery of clinical, recovery‑oriented alcohol and drug intervention services for service users.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatment and care for service users accessing clinical treatment.
• Identify suitability for in‑patient alcohol and opioid detoxification and coordinate referrals.
• Review and manage clinical treatment plans, including initiating and adjusting prescriptions for opiate and/or alcohol substitute therapies and related medications.
• Develop and lead the prescribing clinic, acting as the primary contact for colleagues and partner agencies on prescribing matters.

Required profile

• Qualified Pharmacist with current GPhC registration and at least two years post‑qualification experience, OR a first‑level registered nurse with a current PIN and at least three years post‑qualification experience.
• Current Non‑Medical Prescriber qualification.
• Minimum one year recent experience in substance‑misuse treatment.
• Sound knowledge of clinical prescribing issues in addiction services.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and care planning for substance misuse.
• Prescribing and medication management for opiate and alcohol substitution.
• Developing and running a prescribing clinic.
