Qualified Nursery Assistant (Early Years)

About the role
Academics is seeking a qualified Nursery Assistant to join a friendly two‑form entry primary school in Eastbourne. The role starts in September 2026 and is full‑time, term‑time only, supporting children aged 2‑3 years within the on‑site nursery.
Key responsibilities
- Support the learning, care and development of 2‑3‑year‑old children.
- Assist in delivering EYFS‑based activities tailored to individual needs.
- Promote communication, social, emotional and physical development.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive nursery environment.
- Provide personal care routines where required.
- Observe, record and contribute to children’s learning journeys.
- Build strong relationships with children, parents and staff.
Required profile
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification.
- Experience working with nursery or early‑years children.
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Warm, patient and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for early childhood development.
