Qualified Social Worker – Child Protection & CIN (Hybrid)

About the role

Salford City Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join its Child Protection and Children in Need service. The role is full‑time, hybrid and offers an hourly rate of £39, providing specialist support to children and families in a progressive authority.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a statutory caseload of children and young people under Child Protection plans and Children in Need frameworks.
• Design, implement and regularly review child‑centred care plans to ensure safety and stability.
• Lead multi‑agency groups, collaborating with health, education and police partners and chairing reviews.
• Conduct direct work with children to ensure their wishes and experiences inform decision‑making.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with a current registration with Social Work England.
• Recent, substantial post‑qualifying experience in a statutory Child Protection or Children in Need team.
• Strong analytical writing, understanding of thresholds and ability to manage competing priorities.
