Qualified Social Worker – Child Protection (Hybrid)

About the role
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker with expertise in child protection and safeguarding to join our Support & Protect Team in Workington. The role is hybrid, offering three days on‑site or in the community and two days of flexible home working, with a predictable rota that balances duty weeks with case‑management weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of children and young people under Child Protection plans and Children in Need frameworks.
- Conduct high‑quality assessments, prepare court reports and support care proceedings as required.
- Deliver child‑centred interventions to reduce risk, strengthen families and improve outcomes.
Required profile
- Active registration with Social Work England.
- Substantive post‑qualifying experience in a statutory frontline children’s safeguarding team (Child Protection, CIN or Duty & Assessment).
- Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle for community visits.

What we offer
- Market‑leading hourly rate of £45.00.
- Hybrid working model – 3 days on‑site/in the community, 2 days remote.
- Predictable duty rota: one duty week every five weeks, with the remaining weeks dedicated to case management.
