Qualified Social Worker – Long Term Safeguarding (Oldham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Long‑Term Safeguarding Team within Oldham Council. You will work alongside a dedicated team to protect and promote the welfare of children and young people throughout various stages of their care journey.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver effective safeguarding services and manage care proceedings for children and young people.
• Build and maintain relationships with families, understanding context and dynamics.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency partners to ensure coordinated support.
• Contribute to systemic practice and reflective learning within the team.
• Help reduce caseloads by supporting workload management initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration.
• Proven experience in child safeguarding and long‑term case work.
• Strong understanding of child welfare legislation and practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
