Qualified Social Worker – Mental Health

About the role

This full‑time, temporary position is based at East London NHS Foundation Trust, delivering mental health social care for the London Borough of Hackney and surrounding areas. The qualified social worker will join a multidisciplinary team to provide person‑centred, recovery‑focused support for adults with complex mental health needs.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, strengths‑based assessments and develop personalised support and well‑being plans.
• Identify and manage adults at risk, following safeguarding procedures and mental capacity legislation.
• Provide sign‑posting, advocacy and information to enable service users to make informed choices.
• Collaborate with service users, carers, and multi‑disciplinary partners to ensure timely, appropriate interventions.
• Promote activities and resources that support independent living and improve health outcomes.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with experience in adult mental health.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care.
• Understanding of Care Act, s117 after‑care, and safeguarding frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively within diverse, multi‑cultural teams.
