Qualified Social Worker – North Court and Locality Services

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join Manchester City Council’s North Court and Locality Services. The role is office‑based with the possibility of flexible working and involves delivering high‑quality social work services to children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct child protection assessments and develop Child in Need plans.
• Manage care and court proceedings, including preparation of Section 37 and Section 7 reports.
• Carry out parenting assessments and produce related reports.
• Support and mentor junior staff or students, fostering professional development.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve service excellence.

Required profile

• Registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years of permanent post‑qualifying experience.
• Valid DBS clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in child protection, care proceedings and report writing.
• Motivation to work within an Outstanding authority.
