Qualified Teacher – Flexible Days in Hackney

About the role

Prospero Teaching is partnering with schools in Hackney to provide qualified teachers for flexible, short‑term assignments. You will cover a range of subjects across KS3, KS4 and KS5, stepping in for absent staff on days that suit your availability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons and maintain classroom management for assigned subjects.
• Adapt lesson plans quickly to meet the needs of the class.
• Provide support for pupils with diverse behavioural and learning requirements.
• Mark work and record progress where required, unless otherwise agreed.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure a smooth handover before and after your placement.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent.
• PGCE, SCITT or Teach First qualification.
• Reliability, commitment and ability to work independently.
• Experience with secondary‑age pupils (KS3‑KS5) and varied behavioural needs.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge across the secondary curriculum.
