Qualified Teacher – Primary & Secondary PRU (Rochdale)

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Qualified Teacher to join a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Rochdale. The role involves teaching both primary and secondary pupils who require additional support and behaviour management, helping them overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for primary and secondary students.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and monitor pupil progress.
• Collaborate with support staff, senior leaders, parents/carers, and external agencies.
• Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, confidence and personal development.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England.
• Experience teaching primary and/or secondary pupils.
• Background working with pupils displaying challenging behaviour or SEMH needs (desirable).
• Resilient, adaptable, patient and committed to improving outcomes.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Required skills

• Classroom and behaviour management expertise.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for varied abilities.
• Collaboration with multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
