Quality Assurance / QMS Engineer – ISO 9001 Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer / QMS Engineer to maintain and develop our ISO 9001 Quality Management System within a leading UK manufacturer of bolts and pipeline products. The role focuses on compliance, documentation and continuous improvement rather than routine inspection.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve the ISO 9001 QMS, controlled procedures and traceability records.
• Manage non‑conformances (NCRs) from investigation through to verified closure, including CAPA implementation.
• Support internal, certification and customer audits and handle supplier and customer quality investigations.
• Drive continuous improvement using quality data and tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone and 8D.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing and Sales to identify recurring problems and verify corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience maintaining ISO 9001 systems and ensuring audit compliance.
• Proven ability to manage NCRs, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Background in manufacturing, preferably with engineered components or traceability.
• Ability to work closely with cross‑functional teams and communicate findings.
