Quality Engineer (6‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team at our Ellesmere Port facility. This six‑month contract role supports press, body, paint and general assembly operations in a fast‑paced automotive manufacturing environment. You will act as a technical leader, addressing supplier and engineering quality issues to ensure continuous production and high product standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to manufacturing and quality teams, maintaining internal and external supplier quality standards.
• Rapidly respond to customer and production quality issues, contain problems and implement effective corrective actions.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers, customers and service providers to facilitate clear communication and issue resolution.
• Escalate engineering concerns to QPEL and Design teams, guiding critical issues through Stellantis engineering escalation processes.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification equivalent to CMI Level 5 (progression to Level 7 preferred but not essential).
• Solid engineering background, preferably within automotive, manufacturing or supplier quality.
• Excellent problem‑solving ability, sound judgement and composure under pressure.
• Proven capability to build trust and work effectively across cross‑functional teams.
• Good understanding of supplier quality processes and engineering escalation routes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction at all organisational levels.

• Working hours: Monday‑Thursday 07:00‑15:40, Friday 07:00‑11:20.
