Quality Engineer Apprentice – Emerging Talent 2026

About the role

This apprenticeship is part of Baker Hughes' Emerging Talent programme and will give you hands‑on experience in quality engineering for subsea production systems. You will work alongside engineers and technicians to learn how high‑reliability subsea controls and equipment are designed, built, tested and certified.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with inspection and testing of electro‑mechanical and hydraulic subsea control assemblies following company quality procedures.
• Support the creation and maintenance of quality records, test reports and compliance evidence.
• Participate in root‑cause investigations of non‑conformances and help define corrective actions.
• Work with assembly and test teams to ensure products meet API, ISO, ASME and customer specifications.
• Learn how subsea products comply with industry standards such as API, ASME, ISO and DNV.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement activities, lessons‑learned reviews and improvement projects.
• Assist engineers with testing, CAD reviews, documentation and product building.

Required profile

• GCSEs (Maths, English, Science and Technology/Engineering) or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn technical processes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills in a project‑based environment.
