Quality Engineer - Electrical Building Services

About the role

NG Bailey is seeking a Quality Engineer to support electrical building services projects across Scotland. The role focuses on ensuring electrical installations meet regulatory, legislative and specification standards before delivery to the client. You will work closely with design, operations, commissioning and supply‑chain teams to maintain high quality throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project‑specific Quality Control Management System (QCMS) in collaboration with operations and commissioning teams.
• Review work‑in‑progress drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Produce, approve and track inspection and test plans for all MEP systems.
• Monitor installation progress and conduct surveillance to verify compliance with specifications.
• Engage preferred suppliers early and ensure subcontractors follow NG Bailey procedures.
• Coordinate factory witness testing for major items and verify use of approved products and materials.
• Deliver toolbox talks, presentations and on‑site training as required.
• Carry out regular audits, raise non‑conformances, and report project risks.

Required profile

• Demonstrated health and safety awareness with a safety‑first mindset.
• Experience in electrical system installation and quality control within the construction sector.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to travel across central Scotland and work on‑site.
