Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join a precision manufacturing business in Tewkesbury. The role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, managing internal audits, and ensuring quality requirements are met throughout new product introduction (NPI) projects.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain QA documentation such as FAIR reports, quality plans, and inspection & testing procedures.
• Interpret technical engineering drawings to verify product specifications.
• Lead and motivate cross‑functional teams, including operations, shop‑floor production and suppliers.
• Support PPAP submissions and conduct root‑cause analysis for non‑conformances.
• Work with CNC and conventional machining processes (milling, lathes, drilling) and, where required, program CMM equipment.
• Monitor and reduce scrap rates, reporting results regularly.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external quality teams.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with customers and suppliers.
