Quality Engineering Technician – Agricultural Machinery

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineering Technician to join a leading global manufacturer of agricultural machinery in Basildon. The role involves inspecting, validating and reworking components and finished vehicles to ensure they meet engineering specifications. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and validate components against engineering drawings, specifications and test criteria.
• Investigate quality concerns, capture data and support root‑cause analysis using structured methodologies.
• Coordinate resolution of product quality issues with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Communicate quality updates promptly and prepare performance metrics (KPIs) reports.
• Support audits, ensure timely closure of actions and review PPAP, IRWs, deviations and change requests.
• Implement containment, rework and corrective actions to minimise defects and scrap.
• Manage non‑conforming material, including quarantine and quarantine processes.
• Support incoming inspection of previously identified defect components.
• Coordinate shipment of parts for internal and external analysis with appropriate documentation.
• Maintain compliance with SAP, quality systems and other company processes.
• Assist in developing and implementing testing and inspection plans and maintain test equipment.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement activities such as Kaizens.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T.
• Strong problem‑solving skills using 8D, PDCA or DMAIC methodologies.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Valid driving licence.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or quality environment.
