Quality Improvement & Accreditation Nurse/Midwife (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role
The Clinical Quality Improvement and Accreditation Nurse/Midwife will support the Trust’s quality agenda across acute and community services. This 12‑month fixed‑term position offers a development opportunity for a Band 6 nurse or midwife to gain experience in quality improvement, accreditation and regulatory readiness.
Key responsibilities
- Support ward, department and community teams to achieve and sustain accreditation standards through on‑site engagement and evidence preparation.
- Contribute to the Trust’s Quality Friday programme, conduct walk‑abouts, and facilitate rapid improvement actions.
- Assist with Trust‑wide quality assurance activities, including audits, out‑of‑hours reviews and follow‑up of improvement plans.
- Prepare evidence for CQC inspections, conduct mock assessments and ensure teams understand regulatory standards.
- Enable quality improvement by supporting design, implementation and evaluation of initiatives using QI methodologies.
- Act as a visible quality resource, coaching staff, modelling compassionate leadership and fostering collaborative working.
- Collate, analyse and report quality data, identifying trends, risks and improvement opportunities for senior leadership.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse or Midwife, Band 6 level or equivalent.
- Willingness to work across two acute sites and community services, including some weekend and night shifts.
- Commitment to the Trust’s PROUD values and a culture of continuous learning.
Required skills
- Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and accreditation processes.
- Experience with audit and regulatory readiness activities (e.g., CQC).
- Ability to prepare and present evidence for inspections and governance forums.
