Quality Inspector

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join a well‑established manufacturing company in Poole. The successful candidate will ensure that cable assemblies and related components meet the highest quality standards before delivery to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out first‑off, in‑process (patrol) and final inspections of cable assemblies, connectors, crimps and associated parts.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Use inspection equipment such as vernier calipers, microscopes and other measuring devices.
• Identify, handle and record non‑conforming products and rejects.
• Report quality concerns, defects and production risks to management.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation.
• Collaborate with production teams to consistently achieve quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a quality inspection role within manufacturing or electronics.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers and microscopes.
• Mechanical knowledge of connectors and crimping processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 certification or training is advantageous but not essential.
