Quality Manager – Aerospace (Birmingham)

About the role

The company, a market leader in low‑volume, high‑precision aerospace and automotive component manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Quality Manager for its Birmingham site. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will ensure that all products meet customer, regulatory and internal quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Quality Inspectors and Technicians, fostering a proactive quality culture.
• Verify that manufacturing follows engineering drawings, specifications, AS9100 and AS9102 requirements, including First Article Inspection.
• Manage non‑conformances, conduct root‑cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why and Fishbone analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Support Material Review Board activities and oversee disposition of non‑conforming items.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives, collaborating with Lean Manufacturing programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality management within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 and related aerospace quality standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead investigations, perform RCA and manage CAPA processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across engineering, operations and supply‑chain functions.
