Quality Technician - Incoming Inspection

About the role
We are looking for a hands‑on Quality Technician to help deliver consistently high‑quality products within our manufacturing operation. You will inspect incoming materials, in‑process assemblies and finished products, manage non‑conforming material and support investigations and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out incoming, in‑process and final inspections on PCB assemblies, metal assemblies and finished products.
- Complete visual, dimensional and functional inspections against drawings, specifications, control plans and work instructions.
- Identify, segregate and label non‑conforming material and raise non‑conformance reports.
- Support failure analysis and root‑cause investigations using 5 Why, Fishbone and 8D tools.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor quality measures such as defect trends, scrap, rework and first‑pass yield.
Required profile
- Experience in a manufacturing, quality inspection or production environment.
- Confidence reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and inspection criteria.
- Practical experience of visual, dimensional and functional inspection.
- Knowledge of non‑conformance control, containment and defect reporting.
- Understanding of problem‑solving tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone analysis.
- NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent practical experience in engineering, manufacturing or quality.
- Familiarity with IPC‑A‑610, IPC J‑STD‑001 or ISO 9001 is an advantage.
