Quantitative Analyst Rates Electronic Market Making

About the role

The Quantitative Analyst will develop and implement automated market‑making models and data‑driven trading tools for the rates business, enhancing the technology stack and supporting trading decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement electronic market‑making models (hedging algorithms, bid‑offer models, price predictors, automated pricing) using Java, KDB and Python.
• Build data‑driven tools for trade recommendations and activity analysis.
• Optimize and streamline the existing pricing, hedging and back‑testing technology stack.
• Define strategic improvements and migrate legacy systems to modern platforms.
• Collaborate closely with traders, technology teams, data specialists and control functions (Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Model Risk, Market Data).
• Promote responsible finance, good governance, expense discipline and ethical standards.
• Disseminate technological best practices and assess risk/reward of transactions.

Required profile

• Recognised subject‑matter expert with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication skills for senior‑level internal negotiation and external interaction.
• Advanced judgment and ability to conduct in‑depth quantitative or qualitative analysis.
• Proven ability to think beyond existing solutions and drive innovative approaches.
• Significant impact on business decisions and technical strategy.
