Quantity Surveyor (18-Month Fixed-Term) – Leeds

About the role

We are supporting a growing contractor and housebuilder on a major residential development in Leeds. This 18‑month fixed‑term position offers the chance to become a core commercial lead on a high‑profile project, with a strong likelihood of permanent placement.

Key responsibilities

• Take full commercial ownership of the development, managing budgets, cost plans and monthly cost reports.
• Lead procurement activities, including preparing scopes, tender packages, and contract documentation.
• Manage subcontractor accounts – valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
• Work closely with design and technical teams to align proposals with budgets, buildability and value‑engineering.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks while exploiting opportunities to protect cost and programme.
• Maintain supply‑chain relationships and onboard new subcontractors as required.
• Provide regular site presence to validate progress, spend and commercial accuracy.
• Attend design meetings, subcontractor progress meetings and internal commercial reviews.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
• 3‑5+ years’ experience in housebuilding, residential or mixed‑tenure schemes.
• Proven capability across cost planning, procurement, subcontract management and financial reporting.
• Confident working with multiple stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
