Quantity Surveyor – Capital Refurbishment Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Capital works team in Cheltenham. You will support a new 5‑year programme to upgrade 2,500 homes, starting with kitchen and bathroom refurbishments and expanding into decarbonisation, fire safety and other major retrofits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender documents, cost estimates and commercial proposals for a high‑volume portfolio of projects.
• Manage the full financial and commercial lifecycle of planned works for a local authority client.
• Collaborate with operational teams and on‑site customers to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control.
• Monitor project budgets, variations and profitability, contributing to profit‑share targets.
• Support the development of larger, strategic refurbishment contracts as the business unit grows.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on capital or refurbishment projects.
• Familiarity with kitchen, bathroom, fire‑risk and sustainability‑focused works.
• Ability to work on‑site with customers and manage multiple small‑value, high‑volume contracts.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
