Quantity Surveyor – Construction Commercial Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a fast‑growing contractor delivering high‑quality construction projects across Central London and the UK. You will manage the commercial aspects of projects from post‑contract stage through to final account, working closely with the Project Manager and Director.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage subcontract packages and review tender returns.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities and negotiate subcontract terms.
• Monitor project budgets, produce cost variance reports (CVRs) and manage valuations.
• Support variations, manage payment processes and assist with final account settlement.
• Undertake regular site visits, attend site meetings and liaise with site teams, subcontractors and consultants.
• Provide commercial support to resolve project‑related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in construction.
• Strong commercial knowledge of procurement, subcontractor management, cost planning, valuations and final accounts.
• Proven ability to prepare tender comparison schedules, manage budgets and forecasts.
• Comfortable working closely with project teams, directors, subcontractors and consultants, with regular site attendance.
