Quantity Surveyor – Hybrid (North East England)

About the role

Our client, a respected social housing provider in the North East, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Asset & Property team. The role is hybrid, allowing work from the office in Washington or Durham and remote days.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver quantity surveying and contract administration activities, including valuations, certifications, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor contract performance, cash‑flow, completions and budget expenditure.
• Support tendering processes, pricing schedules and procurement activities.
• Attend site inspections and project meetings to assess progress and commercial performance.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks.
• Drive efficiency improvements and maximise value for money across projects.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, contractors and consultants to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Chartered status, relevant degree qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experience in quantity surveying within construction or property.
• Proven track record in contract administration, procurement and budget management.
• Excellent analytical ability and strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and relevant legislation.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
