Quantity Surveyor – Infrastructure/Energy (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are supporting a major UK infrastructure programme that underpins the energy transition, delivering large‑scale electricity transmission upgrades across England and Wales. This 6‑month contract role (with likely extension) is a key Quantity Surveyor position within a strategic infrastructure team, working from home with weekly travel to the Marston Green project office.

Key responsibilities

• Own commercial and contractual management of major construction packages.
• Manage costs, forecasts and spend against budget.
• Lead NEC4 contract administration (Options A, C and E).
• Handle variations, compensation events and payment processes.
• Provide commercial challenge and ensure financial control.
• Support procurement activity and advise on contract strategy.
• Work closely with delivery teams, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate commercial risks, delays and cost overruns.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on construction projects.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC4 contracts (Options A, C, E).
• Experience leading large‑scale work packages.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
• Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
