Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Our client, a leading Defence & Security company, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on‑site in Newcastle. You will be responsible for managing procurement activities, cost estimation and contract administration while supporting project teams to keep budgets on track.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities and manage subcontractor relationships.
• Perform quantity surveying duties including cost estimation, cost control and contract administration.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and relevant legislation.
• Work closely with project teams to manage budgets, financial reporting and strategic advice on supply chain management.
• Facilitate tender processes, negotiate contracts and monitor project progress.
• Report procurement and quantity surveying matters to senior management.

Required profile

• Significant experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, preferably within the Defence & Security sector.
• Strong background in procurement processes and contract management.
• Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.
• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or a related field.
