Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the KierBAM Joint Venture team at the Devonport Royal Dockyard in Plymouth. The role offers a full‑time, 45‑hour week with the possibility of remote working and occasional site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Providing commercial insight, including financial and contractual performance forecasts, to help the team exceed business targets and KPIs.
• Preparing and reviewing monthly cost reports, working collaboratively with colleagues to identify trends and opportunities.
• Managing subcontractor relationships from enquiry through to payment, ensuring value and quality throughout.
• Implementing change control procedures and maintaining clear communication with clients.
• Assessing and mitigating commercial risks whilst maximising cash flow across the project.

Required profile

• Professionally qualified or hold a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline.
• Strong experience with NEC contracts and confidence in client‑facing situations.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and ideally experienced with CEMAR or Coins/Causeway systems.
• Enjoy working collaboratively within a diverse, skilled team and possess excellent communication skills.
• Hold a CSCS White PQP/AQP card and a full driving licence.
