Quantity Surveyor

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing construction business in Preston. You will take commercial responsibility for multiple live projects across commercial, industrial, insurance and civil sectors, with values ranging from £100k to £5m. The role offers full ownership of budgets, procurement and profit management.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects.
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiation.
• Managing valuations, applications and payments.
• Managing variations and commercial risk.
• Cost control and cash flow management.
• Agreeing subcontractor and client final accounts.
• Identifying commercial opportunities and protecting project margins.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably with a main contractor.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and liaise with subcontractors and clients.
• Comfortable working both in the office and on site.
• Based within approximately 30 minutes of Preston.
