Quantity Surveyor – Major Energy Infrastructure Framework (Yorkshire)

About the role

The successful Quantity Surveyor will join a leading UK main contractor delivering a high‑voltage power network upgrade for the National Grid across Yorkshire. Working on a long‑term framework, you will support commercial performance of civil and utility works, collaborating closely with senior surveyors and site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior and managing quantity surveyors in commercial management of NEC‑contracted work packages.
• Track costs, forecast budgets and produce regular financial reports.
• Prepare and submit compensation events, variations and change orders.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuation, payment administration and measurement.
• Produce interim applications and contribute to final account preparation.
• Liaise with site planners to align commercial controls with programme delivery.

Required profile

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, infrastructure or utilities.
• Solid understanding of NEC contracts and a desire to deepen contractual expertise.
• Strong numerical, analytical and commercial abilities.
• Collaborative approach with confidence to engage operational and commercial stakeholders.
• Residency within reasonable commuting distance of York or Leeds.
