Quantity Surveyor – Residential Housing Developments

About the role

Join an established residential housebuilder in Glasgow as a Quantity Surveyor, taking commercial responsibility for a portfolio of exciting housing developments. You will manage projects from initial procurement through to final account, ensuring budgets are met and risks are mitigated. The role involves regular travel to sites and close collaboration with subcontractors, site teams and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of housing developments.
• Manage projects from initial procurement through to final account.
• Set, monitor and manage project budgets.
• Place subcontractor and supplier orders.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts.
• Monitor material costs and project expenditure.
• Liaise closely with subcontractors, site teams and other internal departments.
• Ensure commercial activity aligns with company procedures.
• Support and guide junior members of the commercial team.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Residential housebuilding experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong commercial, budgeting and cost‑management experience.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification such as a degree, HND or equivalent.
• RICS qualification or progress towards professional accreditation is beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence required.
