Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading property maintenance provider in Leeds. The role focuses on managing both planned works and responsive repairs contracts within the social housing sector, ensuring cost‑effective delivery and high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of planned and responsive repairs contracts.
• Prepare, monitor and control budgets, forecasts and cost plans.
• Value and certify subcontractor work, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks.
• Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation reports.
• Liaise with operational teams to support efficient delivery.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and internal procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement and value‑for‑money initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably in social housing maintenance contracts.
• Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and planned maintenance environments.
• Excellent understanding of cost control, contract administration and commercial reporting.
• Experience managing subcontractors and supply‑chain relationships.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
• Proficiency with relevant quantity‑surveying software and Microsoft Office.
