Quantity Surveyor – Water Infrastructure

About the role

Gold Group Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join its water infrastructure team in Taunton. You will take commercial ownership of a varied portfolio of projects delivering a major capital programme for South West Water across Somerset.

Key responsibilities

• Full commercial management of multiple water infrastructure and capital works projects.
• Administration of NEC contracts, including compensation events and change management.
• Cost forecasting, CVR production and financial reporting.
• Procurement and management of subcontractors.
• Supporting operational teams to maximise project profitability.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and delivery teams.
• Mentoring a Graduate Quantity Surveyor.

Required profile

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, utilities, water or civil engineering.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in client‑facing environments.
• Proactive and organised approach to commercial management.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts.
• Ability to manage procurement and cost forecasting.
