R&D Tax Client Manager

About the role

This position is for an experienced R&D tax professional who will manage a portfolio of innovative clients, guiding them from initial fact‑finding through to successful claim submission. Working fully remotely, you will collaborate with a specialist team while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of R&D tax clients from initial discussions to claim completion.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, accountants and internal specialists.
• Prepare financial calculations, tax reconciliations and supporting documentation for R&D claims.
• Ensure claims comply with UK legislation, HMRC guidance and DSIT Guidelines.
• Submit prenotifications, Additional Information Forms and CT600 documentation within deadlines.
• Support business development by attending prospect meetings and industry events when required.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CTA or ATT qualified.
• Proven experience preparing and managing UK R&D tax relief claims.
• Ability to interpret UK R&D legislation, HMRC guidance and DSIT Guidelines.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple client deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with senior finance and technical stakeholders.
• Interest in Patent Box, Creative Industry Reliefs or Innovation Funding is advantageous.
