R&D Tax Manager – Central London

About the role

Join a leading financial services firm in Central London as an R&D Tax Manager. You will lead a portfolio of innovative clients, delivering high‑quality R&D tax relief claims and providing expert advisory support.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of R&D tax relief clients across multiple sectors.
• Prepare, review and submit technically accurate R&D tax relief claims.
• Liaise directly with clients to identify qualifying R&D activities and related expenditures.
• Produce robust technical reports and financial calculations to support each claim.
• Advise clients on current R&D tax legislation and opportunities to maximise relief.
• Handle HMRC enquiries and support clients throughout the compliance process.
• Collaborate with partners and the wider tax team on complex matters.
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in tax legislation and HMRC guidance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing R&D tax relief claims within an accountancy practice or specialist tax consultancy.
• Strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance.
• Excellent analytical and technical abilities.
• Demonstrated client relationship management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Relevant qualification such as ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA or equivalent experience.
