R&D Test System Engineer – 3‑Month Contract in Cheltenham

About the role
This is a 3‑month contract position based in Cheltenham, focused on designing, building and commissioning test rigs for an Electrical Power Distribution Unit. You will work on mechanical assembly, wiring, and liquid‑cooling integration while adhering to strict safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Design and construct test rigs, including mechanical build, wiring and plumbing.
- Commission test racks following documented procedures.
- Observe and enforce safety rules across all work areas.
- Report daily progress to project leadership.
- Troubleshoot and bring‑up electro‑mechanical equipment.
Required profile
- HND/HNC level qualification or equivalent technical experience.
- Proven experience building test system rigs.
- Hands‑on experience with electro‑mechanical test equipment, rack build, instrumentation, wiring, plumbing and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with liquid cooling systems.
